NCA GTA hosts Meet & Greet on September 13 featuring candidates of Nigerian descent across the GTA and surrounding communities
As Ontario’s municipal elections approach, members of the Nigerian-Canadian community will have an opportunity to meet candidates of Nigerian descent seeking public office across the Greater Toronto Area and other Ontario communities.
The Nigerian Canadian Association – Greater Toronto Area (NCA GTA) will host Nigerians Running for Government Office – Meet & Greet on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Domenico DiLuca Community Centre, 25 Stanley Road, North York, Ontario.
The event is designed to create space for direct conversations between candidates, community members and the wider public ahead of the municipal elections.
A Platform for Civic Engagement
The upcoming Meet & Greet reflects NCA GTA’s ongoing commitment to encouraging civic participation and community engagement among Nigerian Canadians.
Rather than simply learning about candidates through campaign materials or social media, attendees will have an opportunity to hear directly from individuals seeking elected office, learn about their priorities and ask questions about issues affecting their communities.
The gathering also highlights the growing participation of Nigerians and Nigerian Canadians in public life across Ontario.

- Olaleye Afolabi Oluwaolorunlanke — Candidate for Oshawa City Council, Ward 1
- Henry Onwuachu — Candidate for Mayor of Oshawa
- Tony Adeoye — Candidate for Mayor of St. Catharines
- Joseph Adams — Candidate for representation in Wards 2 and 3, Hamilton Catholic District
