Ajiri Alibo Is Building a Financial Services Legacy for Canada’s Next Generation

Ajiri Alibo is building finacial literacy for the next generation

When Ajiri Alibo arrived in Canada in 2019 with his wife and two young daughters, he entered a new chapter personally, professionally and financially.

Like many newcomers, he soon discovered that building a life in Canada required more than earning an income. It meant understanding opportunities, making informed financial decisions and planning for the future.

Today, Alibo is Lead Partner of Velmora Financial Group, a Canadian financial services organization serving families, professionals and business owners with strategies designed to support long-term financial security and wealth.

But his vision for Velmora extends beyond financial products.

“Financial services should begin with understanding people: their families, goals, businesses and aspirations. The strategy should follow the person, not the other way around.”

Alibo is Lead Partner of Velmora Financial Group, a Canadian financial services organization serving families, professionals and business owners with strategies designed to support long-term financial security and wealth.

That philosophy is shaping Velmora around comprehensive financial conversations rather than individual transactions. The focus is on understanding where clients are, where they want to go, the risks that could affect their plans and the strategies available to help them move forward.

Alibo’s vision also includes developing the professionals delivering those services. Velmora is building an environment where advisors can access education, mentorship, technology, systems and business-development support while learning to build sustainable practices of their own.

That vision will take a larger stage on November 14, 2026, when Velmora hosts its inaugural Velmora Summit in Edmonton. The event will bring together financial professionals, entrepreneurs, industry partners and aspiring advisors for conversations around financial services, entrepreneurship, professional development and the future of the industry.

Velmora Financial Group is hostig a summit to for financial education and wealth building in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on November 14, 2026.

For Alibo, the Summit represents the kind of ecosystem he wants Velmora to build: one where people learn, connect, create opportunities and help others advance.

His Nigerian heritage remains woven into that journey through values of resilience, ambition and community. For him, success is not simply about building a profitable company. It is about creating an institution capable of developing professionals, strengthening families and expanding economic opportunities beyond its founders.

Businesses can be measured by revenue, growth and reach. Legacies are measured differently.

The deeper measure for Alibo will be the number of people who gain the knowledge, opportunity and confidence to build because he chose to build first.
