On the margins of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister Mark Carney met with the President of Kenya, William Ruto, to discuss key global and bilateral priorities.
Prime Minister Carney expressed appreciation for Kenya’s leadership in the United Nations Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti and reaffirmed Canada’s strong commitment to supporting greater stability and security in Haiti.
The leaders also explored opportunities to deepen the Canada–Kenya partnership, emphasizing the importance of strengthened trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact as Canada and Kenya continue to advance shared priorities at the regional and global levels.
