Introduction to Textile Art Collage with Apanaki Temitayo MToronto, ON – Muse & Museums is excited to announce a special art activation centered on community, culture, and creativity.

Join us for an inspiring African Textile Collage Workshop on

Saturday, May 3rd, from 11 AM to 2 PM at It’s Ok Studios.

This hands-on session will be led by celebrated fibre artist Apanaki Temitayo M, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore mood and self-expression through the dynamic interplay of African fabrics, textures, and colours on canvas.Designed for all skill levels, this workshop provides a foundational understanding of textile art and collage techniques.

Participants will learn how to layer patterns, explore various tools and materials, and create expressive, textured works of art. All supplies are provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

About Apanaki Temitayo M:A

Trinidadian-born, Toronto-based fibre artist, Apanaki Temitayo M fuses her heritage and spirituality into her vibrant works. She has served as Artist in Residence at the Nia Centre for the Arts (2023) and was the first Artist in Wellness at CAMH (2019–2021).

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Workman Arts and the North Charleston Cultural Arts Department’s Annual African American Fiber Art Exhibition.
