Davido Meets President Macron In Paris

The Afrobeats superstar meets French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties between Africa and France.

Nigerian Afrobeats icon David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Thursday — a moment that captured global attention and further cemented Afrobeats’ influence on the world stage.

The Grammy-nominated singer, who shared photos from the meeting on his official X handle, described the encounter as an exchange of ideas and visions for “a better world.”

“It was an honour meeting #EmmanuelMacron and sharing our visions for a better world,” Davido wrote.

Seen in high spirits, Davido was accompanied by his long-time manager Asa Asika and Nigerian nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest. The meeting underscored a growing intersection between culture, music, and diplomacy, with Macron continuing to position France as a bridge for creative collaboration across Africa.

President Macron has long demonstrated interest in Africa’s cultural industries — from music to film and visual arts — recognising their power in shaping global narratives and fostering cross-continental dialogue. His recent engagements with African creatives signal a deeper appreciation of the continent’s artistic and economic potential.

Just last month, Macron hosted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Élysée Palace, a meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and promoting shared prosperity between France and Nigeria.

Davido’s visit adds a cultural layer to that diplomatic relationship. Beyond his music, the Afrobeats star continues to embody the spirit of modern African influence, using his platform to connect global audiences to Africa’s rhythm, resilience, and creativity.

With each international appearance, Davido strengthens the bridge between Afrobeats and global diplomacy, proving once again that music is not only entertainment — it’s a powerful tool for unity, dialogue, and transformation.
