In 2025, Canada International Black Women Excellence (CIBWE) celebrates 10 years of spotlighting and empowering Black women across Canada. Since its founding, CIBWE has honored over 800 changemakers through its signature “Canada’s Top 100 Black Women to Watch” list—cementing its role as a leading voice for representation, excellence, and advocacy.The milestone celebration began with a vibrant kick-off event on May 18, 2025, at the historic Small Arms Inspection Building in Mississauga, Ontario. It was a dynamic gathering of leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives committed to uplifting the community.

Highlights Include:

Inspiring Panels: Influential speakers like Stacey-Ann Berry, Emily Mills, and Asha Lapps shared insights on leadership, community, and resilience.

Vendor Market: Over 40 Black and Black-women-owned businesses showcased products and services, reflecting the strength of economic empowerment.

Live Entertainment: Performances, workshops, and interactive activities energized the celebration.

Alumni Meet & Greet: Former Top 100 honourees shared their journeys, mentoring and motivating attendees.

Brunch Experience: The first 50 guests enjoyed a complimentary brunch, creating space for connection.

Virtual Engagement: A live-streamed session with media trailblazer Nikki Clarke offered insights on activism and storytelling.

Looking Ahead: The Black Pearls Gala CIBWE’s anniversary celebrations continue with the Black Pearls Gala on October 25, 2025. This red carpet evening will honor 100 outstanding Black women with a four-course dinner, performances by Liberty Silver, TÖME, Dr. Kay Morris, and Ezekiel, and keynote speeches by Tonya Williams and Mitzie Hunter.

CIBWE began as a grassroots movement to amplify Black women’s stories often left out of mainstream narratives.

The “Top 100 Black Women to Watch” list is now a national platform of recognition and pride.
